If Only It Were All So Simple, But It’s Not

If only it were all so simple. If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?
― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

Who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart? A very good question. I want to believe that there is still goodness that lives in each of the human’s heart. Many things have changed over the years – cultures, technologies, innovations and some other things that have altered the way we think and most importantly the way we live.Obviously, we appreciate the evolutions by the inventors that have helped us in so many ways but sadly, it somehow failed to cultivate the humankind with ethics and moral values.

To some extent, changes and evolutions become somewhat unrecognizable; whether it is really needed and beneficial for the people or perhaps it is better to just live in those eras where cultures were the essence of living. Living in this so-called civilized world doesn’t necessarily make a civilized person. Crime rates are still high (i.e in my country), murderers are on the loose, corruptions and power manipulations, evil deeds etc.

The reality is, we are living in a SCARY world, and who is gonna be responsible for that? If only it were all so simple, but it’s not.
